Watermelon Margarita
Serves 6
Recipe from Cooking Light
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons sugar
1 lime wedge
3-1/2 cups cubed seeded watermelon
1/2 cup tequila
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon Triple Sec or other orange flavored liqueur
Lime wedges or watermelon balls (optional)
Directions:
1. Place 2 teaspoons sugar in a saucer. Rub the rims of 6 glasses with 1 lime wedge; spin rim of each glass in sugar to coat. Set prepared glasses aside.
2. Combine watermelon and next 4 ingredients (through Triple Sec) in a blender; process until smooth. Fill each prepared glass with 1/2 cup crushed ice. Add 1/2 cup margarita to each glass. Garnish with lime wedges or melon balls, if desired.
Note: I added an additional 1/4 cup of tequila to the mix.

I just bought a HUGE watermelon, and used some for the salad...maybe I can use the rest to make some of the drink.
Doesn't that just want to make you dive in! It wouldn't be the 4th without watermelon!
Oh my, Alexis would just love this. I'll have to surprise her with it at the pool some other day, as it's Sunday and I am flat out of Tequila.
Congrats for the new design!

Velva
You have made a killer margarita! Now that watermelons are plentiful here and being sold by the hundreds even on the side of the road, there is no excuse for me not to make this for the fourth or any old day for that matter!
Looks wonderful Velva, I think I've got time to get there for Happy Hour! :-)
Looks like a very refreshing cocktail!

Hi, this looks lovely and refreshing. I shared your photo with my husband, he loves to make his own margarita. He said he will definitely try it.
Thank you for visiting my site and following it.
You got an awesome website yourself. I was drooling over the bruschetta with havarti and figs, really gorgeous.

Delicious and lower in calories! Thanks for the recipe Velva. It looks delicious.
Well, I like booze and watermelon...
The term mouthwatering just doesn't do that drink sufficient justice! I would like for it to be hot all the time just so I would have an excuse to mix one of those margaritas up :)
Oooh this looks wonderful! Hope you had a wonderful 4th Velva!
Cheers~
A healthy margarita! Yum! The color is amazing!
Vibrant color on this drink. Perfect for a day on South Beach!
